Had an interesting couple of weeks dealing with Bowtech. This summer I bought a 101st airborne and ordered it with the smooth modules. I was noticing some things and to make a long story short Bowtech fessed up that they NEVER put the Airborne (82 and 101) on the market with an approved smooth module. Only the speed module. The smooth mods that Dealers are putting in are from the Allegiance and Tribute bows. These are not supported and WILL cut your cable. The cable does not track properly in the cam with these smooth mods. So I took the whole mess back and am now the satisfied owner of a new Mathews S2. First shot with this bow on Saturday evening was dead on and dropped my deer within 30 yards. Double lung and took out the far shoulder using Slick Trick broadhead.
So if anyone has a 2008 Airborne and shooting smooth modules you might want to look into it. Either put the speed mods back in (which I didn't like for hunting). If you relax just a tinch with the speed mods it will rip you right out of the valley. Thing will almost jerk your shoulder out of place. Don't need that when I'm staring down that big 14pt. huh ...

I have a 2005 or 2006 Dimond liberity and that thing is smoth as silk when shooting. I don't know what mods are on it but I love the way it shoots, I adverage about 7.5points per target when on the 3D corse and have shot it at 2 deer and both fell dead. Both deer I was able to track from the tree stand, the doe last year only went about 30 yards and the buck I shot this year went about 75 yards and got back up (my mistake). The doe I double lunged and off sholder like yours and the buck was almost a miss (hit my coat sleave) took out 1 lung and sliced the bottom of the heart. I don't shoot this bow enough to be real good with it but so far it has done the job it was bought for, I keep the shots under 25 yards and as long as I don't hit my sleave I feel fine with it.
Good luck with the Mathews, I have heard nothing but good things about them.

the Diamond bows are very good. And most of the Bowtechs for that matter. I just a happened to get into an issue with there "Airborne" series. It's the 101st and 82nd.

My VFT has that sharp valley and stacks up really quick. Personally, I like it. Keeps me honest and prevents me from peaking because if I do, I know I ain't gonna hold it back. Mainly a personal preference thing. So far I haven't had a problem with it when at full draw on a deer.
