Spent some time running the dogs this weekend. Since I had soccer with my boys all day Saturday, I stopped on my way down to Hillsdale near a spot I have in Chelsea. Had a good workout, but no birds. Got down to Hillsdale and realized my phone was gone.
Hunted deer Sunday morning with no luck, then ran back to Chelsea. Found my phone next to where I had parked. Some luck, at least. Was getting ready to run the dogs some more, when I talked to Greg Kuchenberg. He had 123 C reserved and had talked to Dave who had the other two units reserved and had permission to hunt it, so I drove back down. Spent about two hours working the cover on 123 and produced 2 woodcock and a rooster pheasant. I bagged one woodcock and Greg dropped the rooster. Rooster was perfectly pointed by both my setter and my young Brittany. Was a great day, first pheasant for the pup. He is doing far better than I had ever hoped at this point.
Good job Todd. Sounds like you had fun. I've been noticing a decent amount of birds (mainly Pheasant) flying around the general area in Hills. Quite a few Turkeys as well.

Sounds great Todd, I sure wish Hillsdale was a "LOT" closer I would start running my dogs down there. I haven't been bird hunting sence the 3rd day of the season, although we did have a good secound and third day. I think I will be back at it this weekend if the weather cooperates.

I should publicly thank Todd. His dogs did an awesome job on that beautiful wild rooster. Todd and I were jawing when Todd noticed Jerry was on point with Coop honoring. How cool is that. Thanks Todd. I hope to return the favor at some point this season. PS Great to hear Ted is doing better. He is a great old dog!
