Took 2 of the Boy Scouts out that helped build and place the woodduck boxes out on proerty 104 sunday for a duck hunt. They got some shooting just after shooting hours at what looked to be some mallards with-out hitting a bird. Then for the next couple hours just watched the geese in the area fly by us had some respond to my calling but could never get them with in range for the boys. Had a flight of ringneck ducks come through about 100mph, got on the calls and brought them back around and the boys ended up knocking 1 bird out of the sky (still don't know witch one hit it). After that had a flock of geese come in wings cupped and feet out told the boys to take em at about 20 yards and WOW the steel was in the air but no birds fell. Seen a total of about 25 ducks and 100's of geese but only a few of the geese would work, most of them where way up in the air heading some other place the only ducks that worked where the ringnecks. We hunted unit D as my budy Dave's granddaughter didn't want to get up that morning. I don't know if we would have done better on unit B or not. As we where leaving we seen 1 goose land in unit E. All in all it was a good day for all involved.
