Man I'll tell ya you guys missed out on some good dogs I was selling this spring. I kept the biggest female for myself and and at 5 1/2 months old she is running bunnies on her own now. Not big chases but she has had a few 5 to 10 minute runs where she was on her own and one 30 minute run with her mother where she found the track and lead her mother on the track untill it got to a water filled area in the swamp but her mother's experience took over from there . She is coming along nicely I'll tell ya. Can't wait till she's a bit more finished but a 5 1/2 months old not to bad I'm thinking

Hey Willy, sounds like you got a nice little hound there. A 30 minute run with her in the lead is a great thing when they are still young. Just remember your going to have to bring her up this way this fall/winter so I can watch her work, we have a lot of bunnys up here this year. If you need a place to run or just want to get some hunting in let me know.

Always fun starting a new pup. I love hearing the hounds. I use to run walkers for coon. My father in law always keeps 2-3 beagles. Its good exercise for me once all the other hunting is done and I like to run them on snow.

Well when I find a spare weekend I want to check out that new Lapeer property. I hope there is a few there. My goal with her is to have her running solid by Jan or Feb. We will have to see. I imagine she will run into some road blocks here and there. This has been a enjoyable process and I blame the fun I have with the beagles as to why I am not into the deer sports more like the rest of you guys.

Willy, Good to hear she is working out so well. I'm behind with training my pup. He is doing really well on obedience, just need to find some birds to get him on. I was scouting the property with Jason on Saturday, and he told me his dog is on the ground, so he'll have a new beagle pup in a few weeks. I'm hoping to get a couple of does in the freezer next week so I can focus on the dogs this fall.

Willy, you can bring the older hounds if the pup can't make it. Give me a call, if there is no rabbits on the new Lapeer property your only 15minutes from my house. So I csn get you on some bunnys if your going to make the drive.

I have a spot just west of Chelsea that is unreal for rabbits, once we get a good hard freeze. We'll have to get a hunt togehter in Jan, if the weather cooperates. I was in there last year for a late season pheasant hunt. Didn't find any birds, but the snow was so full of rabbit tracks there had to be thousands in there. I saw a couple, but couldn't get clear shots.
