Anyone attending the BBQ that wants to follow me up to Muskegon for an evening fishing trip, let me know. My fishing league is having an event Sunday morning, which I have a crew coming down. Due to not wanting to run across the state two mornings in a row, I am pulling the boat to Three Rivers for the BBQ. If I can get out in time to fish the evening bite, and the weather cooperates, I'm going to run out and fish. I can take 2, maybe 3 folks. Just ask that you chip in a couple of bucks for boat gas, and you can take as much of the fish we catch with you as you want.

John,
I held my breath all spring, too. Hated not having them as an option. I've been on the river twice since I got them back in June, with one walleye to show for it. I have to take one back as whe spool is catching on the case and causing problems with the retrieve. Next spring will be better, I promise.

I noticed Brian Jordan didn't jump on this opportunity. Probably due to my less than stellar performance last year out of Muskegon. Of course, the hurricane blowing through that morning with 5'+ waves is the excuse I'm sticking to on that one.

I would have loved to! I just couldn't make the trip to either the BBQ or to muskegon due to work and other commitments. I sure hope next year is less busy for me :(

Adam and I are in the Traverse area right now. We have not been able to get on the big water all weekend. Small craft warnings again with 3-5 footers. I hope this is not going to be the pattern for the fall.

Yep, tourney was called due to weather. My buddy fished out of Whitehall Friday and did great, 12 fish boated and they had to turn fish loose as they were clearing the lines, couldn't keep them off. Saturday they didn't fish, too rough. Not sure about today. I did hear that Muskegon was pretty calm in the morning.

Is there a way to find out how rough the water is before making the trip?

Not really, other than the forecast. I have a couple websites I use that show current waveheight, but even that can change in an hour or so. My buddy fished out of Whitehall on Sunday morning. Got up at 5am and the wind was howling, so he went back to bed. Got a call at 7am from a buddy of his who went out in the morning, and was killing the fish in calm water. He got out and fished until 11:30 when the wind picked up again and he was blown off the water.
