Seems like the tags in Kansas were much easier to draw this year. If anyone apllied and did not draw let me know. I have yet to hear about someone not drawing. They did away with Transferable tags.

We still have elk hunts in CO available if anyone is interested?

Jason and I just applied for pref points this year for Kansas. Can probably draw anywhere in KS for our bow permits next year.

I would say yes they do. If you want me to research it, I will check it out for you?

Last year we did but the clubs in the midwest revolve property more often then we do.

Larry,
Take a look at the Harvest Reports for Hunting Sport Plus. Look for the counties in Units 8&9. If there is property, it will be in there. That will give you a start. To make the reservation, you will need to go through the AWA office, and I believe that we have a form you fill out, because AWA bills ASC for the day fees, then ASC bills the member. Also, not sure if it has changed, but when I went, HSP would only let you reserve 9 days before the hunt date. Get in touch with Bob, and I can help to based on my experience out there, we can get you set up.

I would bet you are 100% for next year. Dean and I both bought pref points this year also. I heard mule deer tags were much easier to draw also. I saw some big mulies on one of our properties last year.

I have hunted near Tuttle Creek. Dean Johnson drove around the public land that year. I have heard good things about the public land there. He did say it was quite brushy.
Kansas public land is managed better then ours. They farm it and then remove strips in the corn to improve hunting. They sometimes clear the headlands around the fields so hunting the edges during bow season is great. Gun season, they get pounded hard though.
I have hunted unit 9 before I joined the club. You have less deer then the very NE edge of the state. Its still very good ground compared to other states.

Let me know if I can be any help.

I see about 17 farms in the two units you drew. I would suggest booking a few days on one of them just incase the state land is a bust. What week were you considering? I knwo from past expereince (depending on weather) when we hunted unit 9 it was best from Nov 9-21. My outfitter friend swore by Nov 17th for big bucks. I like anywhere after Nov 6.

I sent AWA a note to see what's available but I would need to know when you want to hunt.
