Good Evening Folks,

I wanted to personally thank all of our membership, landowners, sponsors, families and guests who attended our “4th Annual Wild Game Dinner” on Saturday night. Because of you, we not only set a new record attendance of over 150 attendees, but we as a team, raised $3,000 for “God’s Helping Hands” organization.

Many thanks to Rochester College, Ms.Victoria Balcom & the facilities dept., Ms. Marsha Dziewit & the catering team and last but not least, Nick in the Sound & Video Room. We couldn’t have done it without you all.

Guest Speaker # 1 - Bob Norton

Uncle Bob Norton was born in 1937 and grew up and attended East Detroit High School and Macomb Community College. Bob has been married for almost 50 years to Aunt Marge (Holder) Norton. Bob has owned several businesses over the years, such as Norton Tire Service, Master Muffler and several Curves for Women franchises. Today, Bob is an Elder of the Lapeer Church of Christ and enjoys teaching the many Adventures in Christian Living.

Uncle Bob has hunted since 1949, 2 years before he could carry a gun. Bob has hunted most winged and small game, but has pursued mostly big game. Bob is no stranger to Michigan’s northern deer camps, with too many whitetail bucks to count. Bob has hunted elk in New Mexico, mule deer in Wyoming, with his best buck to date, a beautiful 31” grey’s river mule deer buck, harvested a 60” Canadian Bull Moose and a 14” antelope from Montana. With all that history of family, church, business and hunting behind him, his greatest trophies to date, aren’t the animals taken, but the countless family traditions that he has continued and enjoyed, spending every year around the deer camp and in the great outdoors.

Guest Speaker # 2 - Dan Gromek - ASC Landowner

Dan Gromek has been an outdoorsman since he can remember. He purchased his first forestland at the age of 20. He now manages over 275 acres of forestland in the state of Michigan. Dan is a certified Tree Farmer and an active member of the Michigan Tree Farm Association. Dan studies every aspect of forestry and puts great effort into maximizing his forest potential. From timber to wildlife, Dan works to achieve a balance that grows in value. Dan's motto is "any excuse for a walk in the woods is a reason to go." After 57 years, every walk in the woods for Dan is a new learning adventure.

ASC will be holding several new events throughout the 2008 calendar year in celebration of our “5th Year Anniversary”.

Please stay tuned to our website for dates and times for these events.

1.) We have a spring clean up day coming up in May for all
membership and prospective members throughout all ASC
properties.

2.) We will also have a “Pre-Season Pig Roast” out at our Cass Co.
Properties in August.

3.) Last but not least, we will hold a “Doe Derby” in December for
all membership and families.

In His Outdoors,

Michael P. Kirby Sr.
ASC General Manager
