Folks,
I bought one of these about a month ago for using in my blind and my fish shanty when taking my boys. They work great. Thought I had a good deal at $69, but Lowes currently has them 50% off of $69. If you need a good heater for hunting/fishing, this is a great deal.

Todd, That is a great price. I have one I bought about 10 years ago and it is great with in exception. Mine does ot work at high elevations. I think our colorado cap was about 9500-10,000 feet and it would not fire. Besides that, it is great.

Kuch,
I think that is a safety feature that allows it to tell when it is tipped over. I know mine doesn't take much bumping to get it to shut off. I remember seeing a section in the instructions that mentioned high altitude, and that there was a way to get it to work. I didn't pay particular attention because I'm not planning to use it in the mountains anytime soon, but good for future reference.

These are nice units. I've had one for a long time. Other issue might be oxygen content. If it senses the oxygen content is too low (high elevation) it doesn't fire. With not enough oxygen could release carbon monoxide ?? Just a thought.

Also like Todd mentioned if it tips it shuts down (so it doesn't start a fire).

You are correct about the low oxygen sensor. I have had one for quite a while. I ran it off the 20# tank without the filter and it stopped working a few years ago. I found the Mr Heater website and downloaded the assembly drawing. Took it completely apart last week and cleaned it, now it works fine again.

Nice little heaters.
