Went hunting on the 16th for about 3 hours with my uncle. We seen 4 grouse and thought we had 2 others flush but are not sure. We never did get any shots at the sneaky little buggers. We used my White GSP and my uncles Britney.
Went today, the weather did not help any the dog over heated in about a half hour of hunting (my liver GSP). We put up 2 grouse in that time. Again I never did get a shot at the birds. If I was a true grouse hunter and had my gun sholderd I maybe could have gotten the one. Have yet to see any woodcock in the State Game area up here. I know they are there just havent put the time in the woods to find them.
I'm finding the grouse on the edges of the thick stuff and the older woods. Todd this is to the East of that spot you, John and I hunted that time. I'm hopeing to get back after them next weekend. Who know's maybe I can even get a shot at one of the little buggers.
