Are there any group hunts being planned for the 2007 goose season this year? If there are, I would be interested in joining the group.

John,
I am going to refer Duane Liley over to you. He was asking me about just this thing. He has a unit on 118 reserved for this weekend. Since he is a new member, maybe you two could get together, and the two of you could pool your resources and bag a few birds.

John,
The thing with group hunts of any kind involving ASC members is getting them together. I found the best way to do this is to just Grab the Bull by the Horns. Put a post up saying I'm going hunting for (any game) and who would like to join me. Include the Unit/Property your going to hunt and if you get people to show up good for you.

We tried both a group goose hunt in the late season last year on 2 different ocasions with limited sucess (the best was 3 members) we never did get any geese but it was fun.
We also tried a group rabbit hunt with I think 4 different members that was almost a sucess.

I hope this helps.

Frank, Iam taking your suggestion. Here's the scoop:

I have Units B and C at the lapeer Property (M10104)reserved for Saturday, October 7 and Saturday, October 14. Anyone wishing to join me and another member can email me at lanz_ja@yahoo.com .

Onew word of caution--These properties are just to the east of Pennell Road; they are not clearly shown as B and C on the map, or, at lest, how I understand the map.

Hope to see you there!

Happy Hunting & Fishing!

John,
Unit C is the land around the 3 ponds, and does not include them. Unit C if for hunting other than waterfowl, and the unit has a note stating so in the reservation system. Unit B does include waterfowl hunting, and all the water it surrounds.

John,

Your dates are off by a day. Saturday October 6th is the opener, the following Saturday is the 13th. I would hope that you will be familiar with the property and have scouted before heading out there to hunt on an opener and trump around at o dark thirty. I know four other parties that waterfowl hunt out there put in there scouting trips prior to the season opening on September 1st. 104 can be a little tricky to become fully familiar with, and I am sure other parties including myself will be out there. Good Luck.

I would think with 4 other parties out there they would be able to help a fellow member out on where he should be. Even if it was o-dark thirty or any time after that.

I will leave at the fact that safety was my concern.

Scott--

I did realize that the opener is October 6th. It's easier for me to get away on the weekends, so I made the reservations for the 7th. I appreciate your advice, and, yes, safety should be our prime concern.

I admit that I have a bit to learn about these units, but, I'm sure that time and experience will take care of that.
