How many people would be willing to do a European pheasant hunt? I've been kicking the idea around of doing another one and was wondering if I could get enough people to join in to do a prvt. one or if I should just join in on one that is already planed. I know of 2 clubs that do prvt. hunts of this type and would be willing to get the dates that are open and set it all up if I can get enough people to join in. The 2 clubs I know of that do prvt European hunts are Game bird farm and the Rooster ranch. I've hunted on both of these farms and was impresed with the birds and the cover. I'm not sure what it would cost per person at this time, it would mostly depend on the number of people that would join in. I'm guessing in the 150-200 dollar range per person. It would depend on the number of people and the number of birds. Most clubs require a minimum of 15 people, I'm not sure of the minimum of birds the one I was on was 10 birds per person released. The ones I've seen advertised where for 10-15 birds per person. The one thing to remember with a prvt. European hunt is I don't think the club would provide dogs/handlers to retrieve the birds shot from the tower shoot. This is something I would have to find out when I know what is going on. I know that trying to control a dog while trying to shot a pheasant at the same time is a hard thing to do. The walk up would be with our own dogs.

At this time I would not do the hunt. I would offer to help and supply my Viszla for flushing and retrieving after the box hunt.
