Guy's I'm guessing on the 28th we'll be hunting till about 1pm then get together and see how every one did then do some lunch and maybe do a afternoon hunt. I don't know what it will be like in the afternoon but I'm willing to give it a try. I know the mornings are prety good with plenty of geese flying around. I also have a budy of mine that will be hunting with us on the 28th. Right now I know of 3 people that are in, anyone else going to get in on this? I would like to get at least 6 more people. We could split up into 3 groups with some on 107 and some on 106.

I'm going to go over and hunt Monday morning and make sure the geese are still using the property. With all the waste grain that was in them fields I can't beileve they have stoped using them already though. Anyone not working is welcome to join me. Shooting hours start at 7:20am so I'm going to be getting to the field about 6:30am.

Frank,

How did you do on your hunt of 107 today? I reserved 106 for this coming Sunday so we have it booked for the group hunt.

I didn't make it out to hunt Monday. I did go over to the area and do some scoting, I seen about 30 geese flying from the area of the 105 property. When I went that way I noticed the geese were still comming from farther west, so I headed that way and found the majority of the geese where using a field by M-54 between Dodge rd. and M-57. Couldn't locate a farm to see if they would let us hunt so I guess its still the 106,107 property's that will give us our best bet.

I now have at least 5 people going. They are my Son and a budy of mine Dave then Don and Greg and myself.

How did you do down in Hillsdale Sunday Kuch?

I think Don said he may be bringing a few other guys.

HIllsdale was nothing. Got out there on 126 by 6:30. Set up the decs. Never a bird seen all day. I think it might be because all the pond and lakes are froze over and the birfd heading for some open water. Jusy my rookie guess.

May want to check the 118 property. There is running water that stays open most of the season nearby. I've seen birds on those fields even after a long hard freeze.

There are a ton of geese on the Maumee near the 200 property. Had them moving around all day Sunday. For some reason, they are not using the cornfields on the property, though. Lots of feed, less than 1/2 mile from where they are roosting, but they fly over at nose bleed level. Have yet to hear a shot in the area that I would consider goose hunters, and definitely haven't seen any.

I have property 107 reserved both units A and D. this should be good along with Kuch having 106 we should have plenty of fields to hunt.

Are we all going to hunt together or split up on the propertys and try diferent fields? Right now we have as many as 7 people going (I can only hope its not just to freeze our butts off) I'm still seeing plenty of geese in the area. As of yet not a lot of shooting at them on the 106 or 107 propertys so it should be a good time had by all. I think we shold meet about 6:30am so we have plenty of time to set up and get every thing aranged. I guess we can meet at the 107 parking area on the north side of the property. The one you and I met at Kuch. again my phone number is (810)347-5292 feel free to give me a call if any one wants to go, or find out details about our hunt.

I will be at the 107 parking spot at 6:30. I think we should break up onto the two properties. Look forward to meeting the others who are going to be there.

Sorry folks but I have been informed by the boss that I have other plans for Sunday and will be unable to chase geese with you guys.

(I say she never told me! She says I never listen! She is probably right! Not going to win this one!)

Good luck!

Well the first group goose hunt was a bust. We only seen 1 flock of geese that was about 200yards in the air. I don't know where the geese went but they wanted nothing in the area we where at. I sure that in the next few days them fields will be covered with geese. lol

I am surprised there are any birds around. Now that everything is freezing up, even Huron. I figured they would have headed south.

I shot a few ducks on 104 this Fall, but would like to have seen more. Would the owner be receptive to our contacting a wildlife biologist and following his recommendations for improvement? I would expect he would recommend some type of food plot, such as wild rice, and perhaps some wood duck boxes.

I would bet the landowner for 114 would do this. He has been releasing pheasants.
