Might want to wait a bit. They will be getting the returns from Christmas soon, might find some good deals. Also, might see a few good deals after season when they are trying to make room for next year's models.

Right now, they have a thing for $30 off purchases of $150 or more that could save you, also, if you have their card.

Hey Todd
You don't have the late goose season on the reservation system. You only have the 2 day duck season. Has anyone heared from Chad on the posibility of goose hunting down that way? It seems all the Genesee property has been reserved for sunday the 31st. I have reserved 104D for the 31st but if it frezes I'll be looking for another place to hunt. I'm still thinking about making the drive down towards the south western part of the state for the 31st. Any one still want to hook up and go with me?

Sorry, I had a typo in the dates that messed it up.

You aren't seeing anything listed in Genesee for that date because you already have a reservation for that day. To see Genesee, click on your existing reservation, click change under Farms, it will take you back to the search screen, put in the Genesee farms and you will see that they are available. It will only show the one day because you are editing your reservation for that day. Earlier this year, the system was allowing folks to make more than one reservation on a given day, so dates you already had a reservation were showing up. That has been fixed. I will be adding to the tutorial in the near future to cover that.

Guys if this weather holds like it has been (above frezing) I'm probly going to hunt saginaw bay for the 2 day duck/goose season. If someone would like to join me give me a call or e-mail me. I will probly be shooting at divers and maybe some puddle ducks with a bonus goose or two. I have every thing we will need, all any one joining me will need is a pair of waders and shells. I'm going to check out property 104 in the middle of the week to see what kinds of birds if any are using the big pound. Shooting hours are 7:32am so I will have to leave my house by 5:30am.

I went up to the bay today to check on the posibility of duck/goose hunting up there. Didn't see any ducks but did see plenty of geese. I'm still undesided on where I'm going to hunt this sunday, I will know for sure by friday. Also reguardless of where I hunt I'm only going to be doing a morning hunt. I also plan on checking out the Genesee propertys along with the Lapeer property later this week.

John are them floaters, shells or full bodied decoys?

Hey Kuch
Another type of decoy to consider is a combo floater/field decoy. These decoys don't have a keel on them so they can either be used as a floater or a field decoy, most types of this style decoy have heads that can either be sentry or feeder.

I drove by the Genesee propertys today I seen 30 or so geese on the nabiors pound on the west side of unit A 107. It looks like I'm going to be hunting in this field this weekend. I also talked with the county parks folks on Mott lake. They said they have lots of birds still using the lake as a roosting spot, both ducks and geese. I'm going to go over to the Property 104 tomorrow to check this place out.

I was by most of the Hillsdale property yesterday, 9am-1pm, never saw a goose or a duck the whole time. This morning I was on the Lenawee property and heard a couple geese flying and heard a mallard quacking up a storm on the swamp in Unit D. With the warm weather, I'm afraid the birds are really scattered and it is going to be a tough hunt for you folks.

Well I'm defently going to hunt the Genesee property on sunday for waterfowl. I'm going to be on property 107, but I'm sure the other propertys will be as good.

Todd, I hunted Hillsdale 122 Friday and Saturday evenings (late antlerless) and saw some large flocks of Geese fly overhead just before dark (headed south). Only Geese I saw or heard.

On another topic, do you know who may have been cutting all the wood in 122 Unit E (right by D) on Friday and Saturday? Kinda ruined 2 stand locations for those days.

I saw him cutting near the parking area on unit A on Thursday. I watched him from my stand for about 2 hours. He was even pulling down some trees with his truck. On Friday he was in south of the woods on unit C (between C and E). I stopped and introduced myself but he didn't say who he was. I even offered to help him load up the wood – figured it would get him out of there sooner but he left right away. He was an older gentleman and said he was cutting it for his daughter that lived nearby. He had an old red utility truck with no license plate.

Frank,

I have run out of deer hunting days, so it is on to geese. I plan to go to Cabela's Saturday or prior. My son wrestles on Saturdays and I like to go to the meets. Sunday is the best day for me. Are you going to hunt this Sunday? You want another hunter? I am game.
