I swear these little buggers know when your hunting them. We only seen 7 of the little buggers with only a couple shots, we ended up with only 1. I chased 1 with the 22 with 10 shots up a tree with out hitting the thing (I need more shooting at moving targets with this thing). All in all it was a lot of fun. We also seen a little deer my son said it had small spikes on it's head but I couldn't see them, but with my eyes its no wonder I didn't see them, this is a real small deer.
FYI I also found a ladder stand in the North edge of the woods on the property line right on the fence line going into the bean field, this stand is looking at the bean field to the north. It is not taged, its clearly on club property but it could be a stand the landowner to the north has put in I'm not sure if its one of ours or if its someone elses.
I really enjoy squirrel hunting too. Goes back to my days as a boy in Missouri. Took a nice Fox Squirrel earlier this year with my longbow and consider it a personal "trophy" so to speak.
I think it's a shame more folks, especially with youngsters don't take advantage of this fine small game animal. It's so relaxing, provides lots of action and good meat, not to mention the great practice it makes for bigger game down the road.
So keep at it Frank. 116 gets real good for squirrels the first week or two of December, they get real busy on the ground and can be spot and stalked in the open woods if you don't want to wait 'em out.
