Folks,
I am going to be doing my annual dove hunting in Ohio this year. I will be down there Sept 1-4. My plan is to hunt my traditional public land fields as long as the birds are there, then moving to one of our leases if we need to find birds. Our base of operations will be Clyde, OH. I will be staying in an RV with a buddy of mine, other campsites should be available, but we will need to make reservations soon. If any ASC member wants to join us, I am going to try to accomodate as many as possible. However, I am asking that anyone who wants to join donate $25 to Citizens For Wildlife Conservation this year to help fight the Dove Referendum taking place here in Michigan this fall. The donation can be made at http://www.cwcmi.org. Even if you don't plan to go down, please consider making a donation. If we lose this fight, the anti's will be back next year with another ban. Also, please be sure you vote on Nov 7.

Well, was a slow opener. Everyone managed to get shots at birds, but it was pretty slow for the most part. While packing on Wednesday, I asked my buddy if I should pack the duck and goose decoys. "Nah, we never use them anyway." so back into the rafters they went. Should have taken them. The teal and geese were everywhere. The teal opener on the refuge was like nothing I've ever heard there in the past 4 yrs.
