Took the day off work for a day of phesant hunting today. The first field we ran never produced a bird or point out of my dogs or my uncles dog. This seemed to be the case for the hole day, we ran a total of 5 fields with out a bird. A few times in the last field the dogs did get birdy but never got a point or flush untill the very end of the field as we where on our way back to the car. Got a nice point on a rooster that we managed to miss, the a hen came next. Continued down the fence row and put up another 3 roosters (no shots as they all flushed way ahead of the dogs) and 2 more hens got to the road and another rooster went up that me and my uncle both managed to hit, got another solid point and out came a hen, another solid point and as my uncle went in to flush the bird he noticed both my shorthairs had it caught, had 2 more hens and another rooster flush wild on us. Ended the day with 6 rooster's and 5 hens flushed, not the best opening day of bird hunting but definetly not the worst either.
