I did have a realy good cook while down there though, if your ever offered the chance to camp with Joe Brykalski I recomend you take him up on the offer if he does the cooking. I think I gained 5 pounds while down there.

No doubt, elk steak and eggs for breakfast. Can't be any better than that.

Took a Doe on Wednesday evening out in Hillsdale. About a 1/2 before dark. I saw some movement to my left and made out a deer headed my way. When it got close enough I could tell it was a Doe and then saw movement about 50 yards behind her. Another deer headed in. Funny thing about them was the color. First one was extrememly light tan. The second one looked much darker. Right when the first one offered a perfect 20 yard broadside shot I decided to wait on the second one. With the darker color thinking it might be a buck. Ended up being a Doe as well. This one offered a broadside shot as well at about 22 yds. After I shot she went about 50 yards and dropped. Perfect shot. Then the excitement didn't stop. The first one ran in a big circle and ended up coming back from the opposite direction offering about a 15 yd. shot. Was tempting but let her go. Those were the only two deer I saw from my stand in the woods. During the week however must have seen 50 crossing the roads in and out of corn while driving around the grounds. So the deer are there it's just that all the corn is still up.
