Went back up to pinconning today with my uncle and a budy. The first cover we flushed a bunch of woodcock and 1 grouse, not sure how many of the woodcock were the same ones. The secound cover produced several grouse flushes, again not sure how many where the same one's. We ended the day with 6 woodcock between us, my uncle knocked down a grouse but the dogs nor us could find it. All in all it was a great day with lots of good dog work and lots of birds for the dogs. We had several multi bird points/flushes on both woodcock and grouse, the one was at least 4 woodcock that both my shorthairs pointed never did get a bird out of that group. Woodcock flights havent started yet but lots of local birds to shoot at.
Todd Good luck up in Evert this week if the numbers of birds we are finding up in Pinconning are reflective to what the grouse numbers are around the state you should have lots of birds to chase.
