I went out the last night and tonight with the highly acclaimed Lucky Craft Sammy, a walk-the-dog style topwater. Wow, what a great lure!
On my lake I simply cast it out over some weed beds in or near deep water and let the fun begin. I caught numerous nice 14" to 16" fish or so, landed an 18" and lost a couple of other hogs all in less than an hour each night. It is just a riot to watch these things absolutely kill the lure. The real bonus being that this lure hooks a high percentage of hits, unlike other top waters I have used in the past.
No this ain't your daddy's lure, Japanese made and a $17 price tag to boot! But, I am prepared to say it's worth it at this point, especially if you use a proper rod and a superline like Spider Wire, lost lures should be few especially if you fish open water like I do.
I'd be interested to know from others that use this lure.
