I used my Bow for the first time while turkey hunting this year and finally yesterday it all came together at about 10:15am. It's just a jake, but it's my first with the bow and a special memory that I'll share with you, watch the video to see the shot. I could figure out how to embed the video on this post, so you'll have to click on the link.

Sweet! Any turkey killed with a bow is a trophy for sure.
I hunted a friends property this morning and had one gobbling but couldn't convince him to come my way.

Ok, you inspired me Jason. I just went and bought a jake and hen "bobble head decoy" and am going to set up in an active field with my two boys Saturday morning. My main motivation here is for them to be able to have fun and stay occupied in the blind long enough to hopefully see some action.
My 7 year old did not like hunting with my normal "old school tactics" yesterday (sitting against a tree like a statue for a couple hours), so I'm going to give this high tech stuff a try and hope they get some more enjoyment out of it. |

Are you using a ground blind? It's great for taking the children hunting, that way they do have to stay motionless the whole time. When my daughter goes with me, she normally takes her Nintendo DS to pass the time. There are still a lot of toms around 119A. I seen 7 toms last Saturday on the opposite side of the field from me, but none would come to the decoys.

Jason, yes I have a pop up blind too. I was thinking the same thing, Nintendo, snacks, books, they will be all set for a bit.
Thanks for the advice on 119. I have not hunted any of the Hillsdale props before but since we lost my Cass props I really need to get over there and get familiar with them so I can do some hunting. It's just a matter of finding the time as it's a bit of a drive for me. Thankfully, I have a friend within 20 minutes of home here that lets me chase turkey's on his 90 acres during the late season. |

| No called very little as they were no responding, walked the property found the best turkey sign and set up with decoys. About 7 pm. he came right from where I was hoping they would come from, he seen my decoys and came in and gave me a 30 yard shot. Also seen a few deer and 4 other turkeys all hens. All in all a great day, hope my dad can bag one next weekend. |
